Published on the occasion of the major exhibition Nathalie Djurberg & Hans Berg: The Secret Garden – curated by Louise Neri and Juliana Engberg – at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA) and the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA), this major volume serves as both a comprehensive exhibition catalogue and a selective overview of the Berlin-based, Swedish duo's prolific, decade-long output across claymation film, sculpture, installation, music and sound. Featuring extensive exhibition documentation and a bank of film stills, the book – which is edited by Louise Neri –expands on a practice that is at once surrealistic and erotic, densely psychological and visceral, in its wrangling of base human fears, mythologies and desires. The book includes an extensive conversation between Louise Neri and the artists, as well as key texts by Juliana Engberg and PICA director Amy Barrett-Lennard

Nathalie Djurberg and Hans Berg's selected exhibitions include: Turn Into Me, Fondazione Prada, Milan (2008, travelling to OMA Prada Transformer, Seoul, South Korea in 2009); The Experiment, 53rd Biennale di Venezia (2009); A World of Glass, Camden Arts Centre, London (2011); The Parade, Walker Art Center, Minneapolis (2011, travelling to New Museum, New York, and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco, in 2012); The Black Pot, Garage Center for Contemporary Culture, Moscow (2013); Nathalie Djurberg + Hans Berg: A World of Glass, ICA Boston (2014); Maybe This is A Dream: Nathalie Djurberg & Hans Berg, Koelnischer Kunstverein, Germany (2014); The Experiment, Sammlung Goetz, Munich (2015); Flickers of Day and Night, ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum, Aarhus (2015); Nathalie Djurberg & Hans Berg: The Secret Garden, ACCA, Melbourne (2015, travelling to PICA, Perth, in 2016).
